Black Score is the 2nd line of Simeon Farrar, founded in 2012. The collection is rooted in the DIY punk scene and has a rebellious attitude. The prints form an ode to the cultural movement and icons that influence Simeon. The brand makes fun/play parody to fashion or non-fashion brands logos/names/posters because the design philosophy of Black Score is to get rid of ‘branded’ image. The most popular series will be combining two different logos (Nike x Ikea, Snoopy x Gucci) or crossing or twisting the form of a logo. The brand also reflects the current global hot issues like vaccination/mask/legalise freedom etc. There are more & more slogan prints reflecting the brand’s social attitude and worldwide human responsibilities.
For SS23 collection, we are glad to see a lot more new prints than usual & introduction of a new technique of printing which makes the image even more rich and expressive. Same as last season, there are new categories, new colours and new bodies for both adults and kids collections (some categories /colours /bodies are discontinued though).
For adults, products-wise, you will see new categories – unisex cool vest BSV (in 100% polyester, 4 colours) & biker shorts BSBB (in 100% polyester, just Black) catering for the hot Asian summer weather & the sport trend. On the other hand, a retro shorts BSBR (for ladies, in 100% cotton, in Black or Grey) in two prints is brought back to the collection. A less summery category – unisex heavy tees (oversized, wide ribbed collar, 100% cotton, in 4 colours) may be suitable to customers who like raw products in hip hop style.
